The Year of Exploration

SOPHOMORE YEAR

Sophomore year of high school can be the year you start to find who you are. If you had the chance, then you dove into a lot of the activities you were interested in your freshman year. Doing that, you probably realized that maybe Dead Poet’s Society isn’t your preferred way of spending your free time because you actually love Physics. Similarly, you may have tried serving your community, realize it makes you feel fulfilled, and pursue that for the foreseeable future. Regardless of your personal situation, this year is the time to focus on the parts of life you genuinely enjoy.

As in so many situations, writing down your thoughts — just for yourself — is a good way to get started. Think about the things you love to do. Be specific about what it is you love about something and what your role is in it. Also, think about your personality and how you do things.
